Part-time corrections. Removable braces are a good solution for some patients. One advantage is that they do not affect oral hygiene. However, the success of removable braces depends on how long they are worn (ideally 12-16 hours a day). For children aged between five and seven, we sometimes use removable appliances for expansion which helps the incisors emerge when there is not enough space or for space-preservation when milk teeth fall out prematurely. We also use removable braces to correct the position of the jaw or for stabilization after treatment with fixed appliances.
